REVERSE ENGINEERING

This is a topic that I absolutely love because it allows you to control your own destiny.  Reverse engineering is not just for the analytic minds but for every business owner and employee.  If you know where you want to go (your goals and vision) then you can reverse engineer your goals down to what you need to achieve daily.

 Why daily numbers?  It compartmentalizes your daily habits so you can stay focused on the here and now and not get caught up on the daunting journey ahead.  For example, in my business I could see that my team needed to produce over 3000 quotes on an annual basis to achieve our goals.  This number was far to big to focus on daily so I would break this down to 4 quotes per day per agent.  This smaller goal was easy to focus on and made it achievable daily.

 Not only was the smaller number achievable for me and my staff it was measurable.  We could look at a daily milestone instead of waiting for a weekly, monthly or quarterly reports.  By the time some of the reports are available it is far too late to change direction.

 This practice of reverse engineering allowed me to set my intentions and control where my business was heading.
